Good News: Michigan Real Estate is Back in Business May 7th – What to Expect if You are Buying or Selling

I couldn’t be more excited to hear that I can once again help people sell their homes and/or find the perfect one to buy! With this great news comes a lot of responsibility. Safety is my biggest concern, so things won’t look exactly like they did before, but you can be assured that you will be getting the same level of service.

Social Distancing In-Person is still a Priority

One of the priorities for ume is to make sure that social distancing is still maintained. As a real estate agent who is anxious to get back to work for you, I also want to continue to do my part to slow the spread of COVID-19. While showings can now be person-to-person (Yay!), masks and gloves will be worn by the agents. It is likely that during a walk through, agents and buyers/sellers will end up in spaces where social distancing guidelines of 6 feet can’t be adhered to, and the masks will keep us all safe. Showings, appraisals, and inspections will be limited to four people total at one time. And, of course, I would never put you at risk if one of our team is experiencing any symptoms.

Sanitation

All doorknobs and touchable surfaces will continue to be disinfected. You can expect that all the doors will be opened and access to all spaces will be provided without a need to touch any surfaces. Also, to minimize risks, private showings will only be allowed in homes that are occupied by the current owners or in homes that are vacant.

Open Houses

Open houses are still off the table. Maybe one day they will be allowed with small parties allowed entry at a time, but for now, it is private showings by appointment.

Virtual Tours Continue

Virtual tours will likely continue and become a mainstay. They safely allow buyers and sellers the opportunity to view and share your homes from the safety of your homes. Because it is impossible to make showings risk-free, the virtual tours are a great way to pre-screen a home to determine if an in-person viewing is needed.

I know that many of you are still concerned about your safety, and although I can’t eliminate all concerns, I am open to hearing your concerns and doing whatever I can to help make the buying and selling process as safe and comfortable as possible.
